2009 will be the most difficult economy we have seen in decades.  What should marketing do differently, and where can marketing have the biggest impact on boosting sales in the high technology sector?

Building on his company’s research results, John Neeson, Managing Director and Co-Founder of research and advisory services firm SiriusDecisions, will be describing how organizations are approaching the marketing task in 2009. During the March 12th Sales & Marketing Roundtable, you will learn:

How to best allocate your marketing budget for the difficult economy in 2009.

Which lead generation marketing programs will have the greatest impact in 2009 and which ones won’t work very well.

How marketing can accelerate prospects who are already in the sales pipeline.

What key metrics and analytical tools marketing will be using in 2009 to demonstrate ROI.

John Neeson is ideally suited to be our expert speaker for this Roundtable. John is an industry thought leader with more than 20 years of experience focused on marketing, product development, sales management, communications and general management for a variety of businesses and industries. Prior to founding SiriusDecisions, John was chief executive officer of Skila, an ASP provider of business intelligence solutions for the pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology industries. He led Skila through a reorganization and capitalization that included the re-architecture of the company's core product. John also spent 14 years at Gartner Group as a member of the company's senior management team, holding positions that included vice president of sales, senior vice president of worldwide marketing, and executive vice president and general manager of the Technology Provider Group. John, along with Richard Eldh, SiriusDecisions other co-founder, was one of the five officers of the Gartner. He was instrumental in helping Gartner grow from $15 million in yearly sales to $800 million through the development of the company's brand strategy and the creation of concepts such as Enterprise Resource Planning, an industry term used today. While at Gartner, John played an active role in more than 25 acquisitions and investments. John has served as a board member for Jupiter Communications, and a board advisor to ICSA Security, Gartner Institute. He also is the founder of ExecutiveEdge magazine, a joint venture between Gartner Group and Forbes. John received a BA in economics from Ithaca College.

This is the second session of the Council’s Sales & Marketing Roundtable for the 2009.  Please come prepared to raise issues, ask questions and contribute your insights and experience as John Neeson and Roundtable facilitator & Council trustee Mike Kinkead conduct a lively, interactive session about the new marketing for 2009.
